Day 1. - Salinas Lagoon Exploration
07:00 AM – Hotel Pick-Up in Arequipa
Start your day with convenient pickup from your hotel in Arequipa.
Scenic Drive Through the Andes
Travel along a paved road toward Baños de Jesús and the traditional village of Chiguata (3,000 m). Continue ascending along rugged dirt roads on the slopes of Pichu Pichu, enjoying spectacular mountain views along the way.
Salinas Lagoon Exploration
Arrive at Salinas Lagoon (Laguna de Salinas), a stunning high-altitude salt flat surrounded by volcanoes. Depending on the season, you may see the lagoon covered in water or transformed into a vast white salt desert.
- Observe native wildlife such as vicuñas, llamas, alpacas, and various Andean birds
- Spot flamingos when conditions allow
